Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes!!!

Welp, it's time for change. I'm so happy that summer is here BUT I cringe at the thought of being seen in a swim suit, bleh! I don't want to say the "d word" (diet) but as my bestie Kelsey would say, it's time for a "lifestyle change." So, my friend Taylor and I have decided to take a weight loss oath. We are going to try the free weight watchers point system found here. We will also not be eating after 8 PM and we have cut out soda. We have both set weight goals we hope to reach by August 23rd. I hope that posting this on my blog & making it public will help me stay motivated! So feel free to ask me how things are going from time to time. I won't want to let you down!

Last night as a kick off dinner I made Spaghetti with Sauteed Chicken & Grape Tomatoes. It turned out really well :) The recipe can be found here. Gina at skinnytaste.com has a lot of great looking recipes that I can't wait to try out!

Uh, yes, the spyiiiiiider.

We started out last weekend going to the “Dive-in Movie,” nope I didn’t mean to say drive-in. The Aquatic Center in Hemet has night swimming and when the sun goes down they play a movie! I love swimming and this sounded like so much fun to me! Apparently (besides me) this only sounded fun to children up to about the age of 12. Haha so picture it, Nick and I swimming around a pool with a bunch of little kids (even the parents didn’t get in!). There was a deep section for us “big kids” but we had to take a swimming test before we were able to cross the buoy line, luckily we passed haha. The movie they played was Megamind, which we love!

Other events from the weekend include going to the air show, the farmer’s market, more swimming, Koda’s training, the grand “unleashing” of the new dog park in Redlands, and a BBQ at my parent’s house! Overall a really fun weekend!

Frying pans... who knew, right?

I’m going to try to update my blog more. I want to be able to look back at it someday and remember forgotten memories! If I keep going at this rate though I will only find a few sporadic posts!

So what have we Jensen’s been up to?? We’ve made a few more trips to Disneyland! We got to meet up there with a few friends [Kelsie, Ben, Melissa, & Forrest] we hadn’t seen in a while! While we were there they pin traded and it looked like so much fun! Annnnnd now Nick and I have a new hobby/addiction!

On another trip to Disneyland we took Nick’s sister Morgan with us! Poor Morgan had to endure our frequent stops to every crew member with trading pins. I was really happy to find out that Morgan’s favorite ride is the Hollywood Tower of Terror! (Nick doesn’t like the ride so we never go on it) We went on it twice and then devised a plan to force Nick on the ride. Surprisingly, it didn’t take much for him to come willingly. Nick always claimed that these type of rides make him sick, which I thought was a prideful cover up for fear. But alas, it took him stumbling off the ride to the nearest trash can for me to believe him. Oh well! Live and learn! At least we got a priceless picture out of it! Haha notice Nick’s face, doesn’t it look like he’s having the time of his life??

In other EXCITING news! We are expecting TWO BABIES in the family! Nick’s sister Sydney and her husband Thomas are expecting a baby girl in September and my cousin Kris and his wife Ashley are expecting a baby girl in August! It’ll be exciting for us to have little ones in the family before we’re ready to have our own ;)

Love at first sight!

About a month ago we got a text from our friends Mike & Taylor that said "What would you say if we adopted a puppy for you?" and then another shortly after said "and what would you say if we already did it?" Nick and I had been wanting a puppy but had agreed to wait until we get a bigger place. We decided we would have to sadly tell them we probably wouldn't be able to take him. They suggested we watch him while they went to a wedding reception as sort of a trial run. We agreed but before they brought him over I told Nick we had to be strong & say no. Then I saw him. And then I loved him! And now he's ours, an irreplaceable member of the Jensen family!

He is a German Shepherd, Chow mix! We named him Koda after the cute little bear in Brother Bear. His fur is also as soft as a teddy bear! This is what I would imagine Koda would sound like if he spoke human:

Sun, Sun, Sun, Here it comes!

I am the girl who carved her pumpkins as soon as October rolled around and they were already molded by the time Halloween came :( I am also guilty of finishing my Christmas shopping in September! Let’s face it, I sometimes get a little ahead of myself. It is February 9th and I am eagerly and impatiently awaiting the arrival of summer! But hey, I live in California so it’s pretty much here anyway.

I am beyond excited that summer is FINALLY making its way back into my life! Although this winter was actually bearable compared to my last 4 winters in Rexburg, I am still anxious to get into 3 digit temperatures. When I woke up this morning I thought I had slept in because it was so light outside. I love going to work when the sun is out AND coming out to find it waiting for me. Sunny Days = Happy Days! I drove to work singing out loud to Rick Springfield’s “Jessie’s Girl” and The Jackson Five’s “ABC.” Bring on otter pops, “The Beach Boys,” sunglasses, pool parties, THE BEACH, sun block, and barbeques!!! Summertime, I AM READY.

When two loves meet!

If you know me well, you would know that I have 3 major loves, some might say obsessions. They are: The Beatles, Disney, and the Lakers. Since they’re so unrelated it makes me so excited when I see them come together unexpectedly.

On Saturday Nick and I went to Disneyland (I was wearing my Laker jersey) and I wanted to take pictures with some characters, the first one I found was Dale! Yay cute! So we posed for a picture with Dale and he kept making kissing noises at me. So after the picture he grabbed me by the hand and took me over to Pluto! Dale pointed at my jersey to Pluto, and then Plute pointed at my Laker purse. And I was like “ooooh they’re Laker fans!” and they gave me the thumbs up and got all happy! This made my day! Now I know that even Disney characters are Laker fans <3
