1 date in 3 envelopes

Last week I got home from work and presented Nick with 3 envelopes.

The top envelope is an envelope writing sheet, you can find the printable here. I wrote a letter telling Nick how grateful I am for all his hard work. I also told him we would be going on a surprise date that night, and that he gets to choose what we do! He had two options ... he chose Option 1!

When he opened the envelope he found this:

We hopped in the car. Nick entered the address on the back of the "drive to" tag! And we were on our way!

And we arrived at ...

We had so much fun even though Nick lapped me 3 ... or 4 ... or 5 times. I loved that he had no idea where he was driving to, and then his face when we arrived! It was like seeing a little boy's face light up on Christmas!

Below is the printable tag I created to write the addresses on. Feel free to use it and take your hubby on a surprise date! Let me know what you do and how he liked it!

You can also make your own printable on picnik by following these instructions! Have fun!

Are those my friends?

After months and months of parties for two (which can be fun) we found married friends!

Yay!

Meet Mike and Taylor Stones!

We hang out with them a lot and enjoy doing random activities. We play wii (well mostly the boys do), we cook, we watch movies and youtube videos, we go on midnight applebees runs, we have play dates for our little ones (puppies), we go to the beach, we have FHE together ... and the list goes on! Also, they are the ones that adopted Koda for us! So we will forever be grateful for their kindness.

Bahaha! This picture makes me laugh so hard! We went to Applebees for happy hour one night and seeing us acting crazy in the parking lot afterwards (and me laughing histerically) might lead you to believe we went for drinks but I swear we only went for half price appetizers! Yum!

migraines = excedrin = no sleep

After 4 days of an on-and-off migrane I gave in and took some excedrin, which contains 65 mg of caffeine! I took two!

Later I found out I react the same as daddy to ceffeine. It kept me up all night!

What did I do in these sleepless hours of the night? For a while I layed in bed trying so hard to fall asleep. I then contemplated doing my grocery shopping at the wonderful 24 hour Winco nearby. Now, if you've ever been to Hemet you know going out late at night is a bad idea! Unless you're looking for a "lady of the night," then this is your place! So, I quickly put that out of my mind. What to do, what to do.... Oh! I know! The bathroom mirrors need to be cleaned. Ok, so that took a whole 5 minutes, now what? Then I looked down to see the lovely gift mom gave me last week and decided I must share it with you! Mom is so creative and crafty! But, one thing she is not is computer savvy. So she has given me permission to post pictures of projects she has done and we will be working on writing up tutorials together!

Well, I'm sure my fellow pinterest addicts have run across the make-up magnet board found here. It is so cute! This was my mom's inspiration for her own make-up board. We don't wear a whole lot of make-up, so she went smaller with hers, but it can be made any size. Below is the picture of the make-up board she made me, and you will see it has two different sides you can display. One of the sides has the cutest Disney newsprint-ish paper!
What do you think? I love it! And it's super easy to make!

1. Get a piece of sheet metal, and have them cut it to the size you want at the hardware store. (Mom cuts her own, how does she do this?? I have no idea. I'm sure that could be a whole tutorial on it's own)

2. Pick out two different sheets of scrapbook paper, and cut it down to the size of the metal.

3. Mod Podge paper to each side of the metal.

4. Stick magnets to the back of the make-up you use often. I used a 1/2" strip magnet roll with adhesive back which I cut to fit on the back of the make-up. The magnet is strong enough but the adhesive wasn't, so I stuck it on with hot glue.

5. Display your magnet board on a little easel. I love these! They can be found at ikea and they are inexpensive too! You can display it on any kind of stand but I especially like these easels because they have a ledge you can place eye liner or mascara on!

Let us know what you think!

Love,
Mom and Priscila

Baby Shower!

This weekend we had a baby shower for my cousin Ashley! Everyone brought their talents together and it was a success! Unfortunatelty, I didn't bring my camera :( But I did snag a few pictures with my phone. My aunt wanted the baby shower to have a princess theme so I made the diaper cake look like a castle. My mom put together a crepe station, yum! My aunt handled the decorations and everything looked so glamorous! My cousin Stephanie made the cutest banner and thought of some fun games to play. Someone from their ward made the most perfect cake pops I've ever seen!

The picture above was of a little tree docoration my aunt made from a branch. It was adorable! You can't really tell in the picture though :( And my daddy made the pedestal it's sitting on.

For my gift to Ashley I put together a hospital survival kit I found on pinterest. You can find the printables and list of suggested items to include here. I used her suggestions and looked up some other things someone might want in the hospital, below or the items I included.

1. A healthy snack - trail mix granola bars
2. Chapstick - word on the streets is your lips will get very chapped because you can't drink water when you're in labor
3. Facial cleansing wipes - to help you feel clean when you've been sweating a lot and can't get out of bed
4. M&M's - It's chocolate. Enough said.
5. Hair ties and headbands - to keep that hair out of your face
6. Deodorant - see number 3
7. Orbit - Dirty mouth? Clean it up with Orbit! Who knows what kind of words you'll be screaming while you're in labor haha jk
8. Wisps - disposable toothbrushes, it's always nice to have the just brushed clean feeling
